-Announced yesterday morning, Apple’s 2011 Worldwide Developers Conference has sold out in less than 12 hours, marking a new record for quickest sell out. DigitalArts reports that the conference was sold out by 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time; last year’s conference sold out in eight days, which was then a new record. (Note that WWDC 2011 Tickets Reach $4600 on Ebay...)

-iPhone hacker Comex was airing some heady suspicions about Apple’s latest strategy in the cat-and-mouse jailbreak game. The talented hacker behind the Spirit and JailbreakMe 2.0 exploits is suggesting that Apple might have a spy within the iPhone Dev Team itself, allowing Cupertino to close exploits in their iOS software before the Dev Team can release a working jailbreak with them.
In Parallel, the iPhone Dev Team is working with i0n1c’s Untether Exploit "secretly". If they are successful in their beta test, they will possibly release a jailbreak tool for everyone. We can only hope, right?

-A year ago, Apple bought Siri, a virtual personal assistant startup that had released a very cool iPhone app. The Siri team and technology are now said to be a big part of iOS 5. The use of Siri's artificial intelligence and assistance technology is said to be deeply integrated into the OS for all the different services offered. And the team is now putting the finishing touches on the elements that will be demoed at WWDC, we hear. This tech may also be opened to developers for use in third-party apps - though that information isn't quite as concrete.

-Vimeo, one of the first video sharing sites to support HTML5 video alongside YouTube, has finally released its official iOS application. The free Vimeo app lets you upload, manage and watch your Vimeo clips, as well as the videos based on your personal preferences or Vimeo’s curated channels.
