-News that a bunch of us have been discussing is Apple hiring Kevin Timmons (spent over a decade in operations at GeoCities/Yahoo then GM of Microsoft's data center services group). Timmons may be taking on a role larger than traditional data center management, possibly including deployment of cloud-based services such as those rumored for a revamp of Apple's MobileMe subscription service.
-Apple has just released iOS 4.3.2 update for iPhone 4 (iOS 4.2.7 for Verizon iPhone 4), iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad, and iPod touch 4G/3G. This is just a minor update to fix bugs, DNS issues, fix document viewer, FaceTime issues, vulnerabilities and some battery life woes on all iOS devices.Note that it's already jailbroken (tethered) using pwnageTool.
-Seriously: Imagine your kids being able to play around with all the wonders of physics — without the fear they might slice off a finger (or two), or burn their eyebrows off. That’s the basic idea behind the brilliant Xperica HD for the iPad, a physics sandbox that lets high-school kids (or anyone, really) make sense of physics through playing with interactive experiments. The first four modules are free, with $4 netting the remaining half-dozen set of physics experiments.
