Google Sync for iOS adds some welcome features

For those of you that use GMail as their syncing service of choice (which is most of us), Google has added some functionality to their sync service that will make that experience just that bit better.

Having GMail set up as an Exchange service on iOS allows the users contacts, calendar, and mail to be pushed and backed up free of charge to Google’s server – a service that Apple have been charging for with MobileMe. Google have made this service even more integrated by delivering the functionality of GMail to the native iOS applications.

These updated features improve the Calendar syncing, allowing a user to choose what Calendars to sync, as well as sending emails from another address. You can also now accept/decline invitations directly from the native iOS application.
